Salvation by Baptism NOT!!Dr Patrick McDonald MRav.Baptism is NOT a condition of Salvation, it is a result of it.Ok first off lets take the scripture in context (single verse quotations do not a citation make, asthey are out of context):Mark16:14-20Mark16:14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them withtheir unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him afterhe was risen.15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.16
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
but he that believeth not shall be damned.17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; theyshall speak with new tongues;18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; theyshall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on theright hand of God.20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirmingthe word with signs following. Amen.Messiah has sat down to eat with the 11 disciples and basically chastised them for theirdisbelief that he had risen.Here He has commanded them to go in to the world and preach the gospel to every creature.(creature meaning every living being, ie the Jews and the pagans, [pagans were also consideredas were animals only creatures because of their disbelief in G-d])'And he says SPECIFICALLY:Mark 16:16 He that believeth 'in the gospel and in HIS gift ofsalvation to them' and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not 'in the gospel and inHIS gift of salvation' shall be damned.So those that accept the gospel and believe in the teaching that Jesus died for their sins andthat salvation is only through HIM will be saved. Baptism is part of not the method of salvation.Because the verse plainly states that if one does NOT believe then they are damned. So ineffect they can be baptised and not believe and still be damned, the only difference is they willbe wet!And He continues to teach and tells them that for those that Believe what they will do in HISname.Now, to continue in the Gospels same night

Matthew 28:16-1916 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointedthem.17 And when they saw him, they worshiped him: but some doubted.18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and inearth.19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of theSon, and of the Holy Ghost:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with youalways, even unto the end of the world. Amen.Ok here v.16-17 verify same time and place, and He asserts who and what HE is. then in 18-19same command, to spread the gospel. 'And verifies baptism', note it does not say it is forsalvation. It specifically says teach them the gospel first, so they have to be taught first, thenthey believe in Yeshua/Jesus into salvation, then are baptized.Wait how can an infant be taught the gospel, believe in Yeshua/Jesus then be baptized?Now He does tell them to specifically teach all that HE has commanded.John 3:3-63 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again,he cannot see the kingdom of God.4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second timeinto his mother's womb, and be born?5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of theSpirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.How are we born again?John 3:14-18
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already,because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
As Jesus is to be lifted up and honored we see here that WHOSOEVER
believeth
in him shouldnot perish but have everlasting life.

If we believe not we are already condemned. Salvation is in the Belief in the Son.John 3:35-3635 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shallnot see life; but the wrath of God abideth on himVery very clear G-d's WORD again says Believe on/in the Son and have everlasting life, don'tbelieve and your toast. No mention of baptism being a part of salvation.Acts 2:37-4437 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to therest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?38 Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized
every one of you in the name of JesusChrist for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many asthe Lord our God shall call.40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from thisuntoward generation.41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were addedunto them about three thousand souls.42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking ofbread, and in prayers.43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;Now here is a specific command concerning Baptism. In Verse 38, REPENT and be baptizedeveryone of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.Repentance baptism for the remission of sins. And these 3 thousand were not baptized untosalvation, they were baptized unto repentance for the remission of sins. And you will see inverse 44 that "all that believed were together, and had all things in common.".How can one repent if he does not know Yeshua/Jesus 'is saved' and knows what they are savedfrom? How can they repent if they are NOT saved?Baptism as a sign of repentance for the remission of sins, exactly as is in the first testamenttevilah/mikvah.Acts 16:30-3430 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?31 And they said,
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,
and thy house.
