November 2013
President’s MessageSusan Parrett
The days are bright and crisp and Halloween is almost here. But we still have one more bigevent to look forward to in October. The much anticipated Preview Party for next Spring's Re-treat is on Sunday, October 27. At the Preview Party we get our first glimpse of the wonderfulprojects that are being offered for Retreat. The Retreat committee has been hard at work sincejust after last year's retreat and the actual finished pieces will be on display to help you decideexactly what classes you want to choose. And Mary Ann will be taking room reservations. Asalways, as we struggle to make those difficult decisions, there will be great food and conversa-
tion. If you can't make it to the party, remember that information will be on the GCDA website;
check it out and make your choices early. Then, when the snow starts to blow, you can sit back,dream, and get ready to Catch Spring Fever!November is election month for GCDA. Please make every effort to get to the meeting so thatwe have a quorum. Thank you Emily Stamm and Gayle Wissel for agreeing to run for VP of Pro-gram and Secretary, respectively. Additional nominations from the floor will be welcome. Thankyou to the volunteers who have offered to step up and join the Hospitality Committee. We stillneed four members for the Nominating Committee for 2014--think about it!After the November meeting, Sandie Tieman will be teaching a really cute Christmas plaquewhich looks like it will be both fun and stress-free. And Sandie assures us we will be able to fin-ish it during the class! For me, that's rare!Remember to bring your finished ornaments for the Christmas raffle. The proceeds of the raf-fle are what pays for our wonderful Christmas party! Can you sell a few more raffle tickets?Keep painting!Susan
IMPORTANT!As Susan says in her report, elections will be held at the November 10thmeeting when we will cast votes for the offices of VP of Programs and Secretary. A quorum is needed! Please attend!
