Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities

Function as a Rodman for surveying crew, both underground and on surface jobs. Develop skills to grow into the Mine Surveyor Position. Update maps using the Mines CAD system. Build drawings used for various mine functions. Perform analytic data collection (i.e. dust sampling, water sampling, ore sampling, Noise sampling , etc.). Gather and monitor data on Production and support functions. Manage data from analytic tests. Activities Set sites, measure mine faces and Mine entries. Reduce survey data and input into CAD system Operate Trimble GPS on surface jobs. Learn the craft of surveying: mechanics of the measurements and the calculations Become proficient on the operation of survey instruments used in the department. Use AutoCAD to keep the Mine maps up-to-date. Use AutoCAD to build drawings Archive the drawings and serve as the access point to those drawings. Exercise correct rigor to gather useful data. Measure and analyze data; Monitor usages of consumables, assist in investigation of alternatives. Effectively organize data and archive data for future use. Assist engineers with the reduction and analysis of data. Use MS Office Software to manipulate data and write reports. Assist with mine tours and general functions of the department. Perform audits for safety and efficiency. Duties as assigned. Support Responsible Care program

Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Associate degree in surveying, engineering, or math background is preferred Surveying experience is preferred ACAD experience is preferred Strong math and trigonometry skills; completion of college-level course Algebra and Trigonometry with a grade of C or higher or COMPASS math test Level III with a minimum score of 65 Qualifications: Surveying experience is preferred ACAD experience is preferred Strong math and trigonometry skills; completion of college-level course Algebra and Trigonometry with a grade of C or higher or COMPASS math test Level III with a minimum score of 65
