Sometime around theend of May, Jenny & Imade our way back toLake Luzerne, NY in the Adirondacks. Our mis-sion: to work at Double HRanch for the summer. If you don’t know, Double His one of Paul Newman’s‘Hole in the Wall’ camps. This is a network of campsall over the world whichserves chronically ill chil-dren ages 6-16.Summer ‘09 is dividedup into 7, 5 day sessions.Every session a new groupof kids lands at HH for, what they describe as, the best week of their year. The camp can accommo-date approximately 150kids a session. When I think of sum-mer jobs, there is no bet-ter one I can imagine thanemployment with HH. To be paid to work with kids who are usually outcastedfrom society in many ways brings me great joy. Many of these children haveendured lives that none of us can relate to, but at asuperficial level, a child isa child. Here, all they wantto do is runaround, havefun, and meetnew people who aren’tgoing to stareat them ormake fun of their disabil-ity. Almostevery child who comeshere says that this is theirfavorite place in the world. It’s not hard to see why. Please continue to pray for Jenny & I as we finishup our final two sessionsat the Ranch and seek direction for the Fall.
