PROVIDING FOR THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENSIFIED CAMPAIGN
AGAINST LOOSE FIREARMS
WHEREAS, the pursuit of paace and order has always been 3 hasic
goverment concern;
WHEREAS, the proliferation of loase firearms hag remained a3 & (rice
obstacle in the Night against criminallty;
WHEREAS, as of May 2005, the Loose Finearm Estimate of the Philippine
Nalicnal Police (PNP) show that there are an esumated One Milton Gne Hundred
Ten Thousand Twa Hundred Seventy Seven (1,110,277) loose firearms
nahonwide: 559,326 firearms have expired/unrenewed licenses, 15,676 firearms
are with the Uhreat groups, 5.726: firearms are with the criminal elements and
529,550 unredistered firearms are with the general populations;
WHEREAS, slalistics also show that from 2004-2008, finery
percent (97%) of all the crime incidents Involving firearms were committed
joose/unregistered firearms;

Armed Forces’ of the Philippines (AFP), the Bureau of Customs (BCC), tre
ational Bureau of investigation (NBT) and all other Law Enforcement Agencies
