I
thought theoutdated
and
discreditedKeynesian economictheorybehind
youreffort
wasmisguided
and
I
opposed
thestimulus.
Unfortunately,
recent economic
data
has
validated
my
opposition.-TheU.S. economylost
433,000
jobsin
June,
bringing
theunemployment
rate
to
9,5Yo.b
These
job
losses
come
on
the
heels
of
other
declining
economic
indicators,
and
bring
the
total
number
of
American
jobs
lost
sincePresidentObama
took officeto
over
2.6
million.T
I
and othershave dared
to bring
these
facts to theattention
of
PresidentObama,s
the
Congress
and
theAmericanpeople.
You've
unfortunately
reacted
by
once againresorting
to
the
playbookof
the Chicago
political
machine. As
Politico
reports,
you
"launched
a
coordinated
effort
to

and
other

on

White
House
chief of
staff
RahmEmanuel directedthat theletters
from
the Cabinet
secretariesbe
sent
to
fGovernor]
Brewer,accordingto
two
administration
officials.eThefact that theletterswerecoordinated
by
you
to maximize
the
level
of
intimidation
is
supported
by the
timing,
structure,
and
content
of
each
letter.
Not
only
werethe
four
letters
all
sent
the day
following
Senator
Kyl's
remarks,but theywere
also
remarkablysimilar in
tone
and sentence
structure.
For
example,consider the
following
comparison:

OnSunday,

SenatorJon
Kyl
publicly
questionedwhetherthe stimulusis

and

that
he wants

I
believethe stimulus
has
been
veryeffective
in
creating
job
opportunitiesthroughoutthecountry.
However,
if
you

I

are
wrong.
