Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a slowdownin the overall performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications that had operated flaw-lessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, suchas Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, but installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0 andNBA 3.0. And now Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and House Cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the sys-tem. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?Signed,

First keep in mind; Boyfriend 5.0 is an entertainment package, while Husband 1.0is an operating system. Try entering the command C:// I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME and downloadTears 6.2 to install Guilt 3.0. If all works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run theapplications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. But remember, overuse can cause Husband 1.0 to defaultto Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will createSnoring Loudly.wav files. Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-Law 1.0 or reinstall anotherBoyfriend program. These are not supported applications and will crash Husband 1.0. In summary,Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have a limited memory and cannot learn new applica-tions quickly. You might consider additional software to improve memory and performance. I person-ally recommend Hot Food 3.0 and Lingerie 6.9. Good Luck,

Mid-afternoon Saturday, a fire brokeout at the Walk of Stars kiosk onQuilchena Ave. The Merritt Fire Dept.was there quickly and wasable to put itout before it could fully engulf the struc-ture, or spread to the adjoining building.The cause is still under investigation, but a witness claims to have seen some-one light a paper & toss it beneath thewood structure.

Fire crews in the Kamloops FireDistrict have responded to over 150 newwildfires in the past week, of which themajority have been lightning-caused.The Brook Creek fire, within 2 kmssouthwest of Brookmere & 42 kms southof Merritt, is now estimated at 2100hectares and as of yesterday morning, isstill not contained. There are 37 firefight-ers, 3 helicopters and 18 heavy equip-ment units working on it. Crews arefocusing on the north end of the fire, andmore firefighters were enroute yesterday,to bring the total up to 100. The cause isstill under investigation. The entire com-munity was evacuated on Sunday.Flames & towering, billowing smokewere clearly visible from the Coquihalla,and many travellers curious about the blaze stopped along the roadway nearthe toll booth to watch, creating a risk fortraffic, according to officials.So far this season, the Kamloops FireCentre has responded to 651 wildfires of which 427 have been lightning-caused.In the province since April, 2200 fireshave burned 68,867 hectares, comparedto 1,066 fires that burned 11,000 hectareslast year. Costs so far are at an all-timehigh. The fire danger rating remains highto extreme in many areas of the fire cen-tre, and the public is urged to be extracautious with any outdoor or back coun-try activities as person-caused wildfiresrequire resources critical for naturallyoccurring lightning fires.
Boy critical afterCoquihalla accident
Police are looking for the driver of a black SUV, or any witnesses, following acrash Monday afternoon at about2:15pm, on the Coquihalla highway nearthe old toll booths.According to Upper Fraser ValleyRCMPit appears a black SUV cut themoff, causing them to try to avoid collid-ing with the vehicle and, in doing that,they rolled into the median.Two people, including a nine-year-old boy, suffered serious injuries andwere transported to the hospital inHope, while two others were not hurt.The boy remains in critical condition.The northbound lanes were closed foran hour as police and emergency crewsarrived in the area to deal with the acci-dent. Investigators say the black SUV didnot stop, and the driver might not even be aware the accident happened.Anyone with info is asked to call FraserValley Traffic Services, (604)702-4039.
