Worthy President’s Message
Greeting Aerie Brothers and Sisters,  As my dear friend, mentor and Junior Past Worthy President said recently: "the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer" Isn't that the truth!! Pretty soon we will be growing to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. I LOVE our autumn and winter here in the Great Pacific Northwest! Even though the fact that are lucky to have up to 15 hours of darkness, rain, occasional sunshine and did I mention rain? We are certainly fortunate to have a warm and welcoming club to entertain ourselves and our families. As of this writing, the King of Hearts drawing is still going, which means the jackpot is growing. Monday nights, drawing is at 7:00 pm. You need to be present to win, and
bring your Aerie/Auxiliary Official Receipt, as it is re-quired should you win. October also means the Pacific Northwest Regional Conference in Ketchikan, Alaska, we have at least 2 represen-tatives there and I look forward to a full report. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the Fall Conference - due to  work commitments. I have received the reading materials from the conference and look forward to reviewing them and receiving a full report from the attending members. Our Bylaws committee is firing up and I expect to hear new and interesting ideas as to the direction of our beloved club, and the rules that make our Aerie our own. We will also be updating the house rules to meet and exceed our current standards. ALL OF YOU (I emphasize ALL OF YOU) have a vested interest in these forthcoming communi-cations. If you would like to play a part in the direction of our beloved Aerie, I strongly suggest your attendance to the Aerie meetings. You are welcome if you are a member in good standing and your vote DOES count, your thoughts, your advice and your discussion is not only welcome but extremely encouraged. As the saying goes "IF  YOU DON'T VOTE, DON'T COMPLAIN" Madam President Linda and I continue our Monday night dinners while screening the NFL game. We have had a fantastic time providing you meals and look forward to continuing into November and December. Had a long  weekend? Allow Linda and I to cook for you on Mondays! Bring the kids, I often do. I look forward to seeing you in the social room, and in the Aerie hall on meetings, (first and third Tuesdays of the month 7:30 sharp, if you're late knock on the door). Please make a commitment to yourself and the betterment and direction of our club and try to attend a meeting before the end of the year. Get involved!  Yours in Brotherhood, Zane Fitterer  Worthy President

Madam President’s Message
Brothers and Sisters:  Wow
where has the time gone? Fall has arrived and it‟s beautiful outside. I love this time of the year with the
changing colors on the trees. How bout them Hawks? At the time of this writing they are 5
1 and heading to Ari-
zona for Thursday Night football. Wouldn‟t it be great for them to come back 6
-1? J In fantasy football I have come back and am now 4-
2. Can‟t wait to play PWP Carl Young again and give him a butt kicking …….
Zane and I are still doing Monday Night Football dinners. We are doing these dinners for our charities, the West Seattle Food Bank and Lung Longevity and would really like to have more people coming up and enjoying our
food. Is there something you would like to have that we aren‟t cooking? Please let us know –
you can always email me at iamcoolestlala@comcast.net or Zane at zfitterer@hotmail.com. We would love to hear your thoughts.
I‟d like to thank our Aerie brothers for the great pizza and even better singing of Happy Birthday to us on our 65
  birthday party on October 3
. I was totally impressed with how many brothers attended and sang to us. They did a great job! Ladies, the Aerie birthday is in April
let‟s get even more sisters up there to sing Happy Birthday to
them! I will send out a reminder in the March and April newsletters. There are some fabulous events planned in November, so mark your calendars. The 9
Annual Split Pea Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwich Dinner is November 15
. Proceeds benefit the HHT Foundation, in memory of Dena En-
gen‟s father, Ev Black. Remember, Dena makes a mean split pea soup and this dinner always sell out fast.
Next brings the Turkey Dart Shoot on November 23
. Cost is $10 per person with a blind draw for partners. Sign up in the lounge today, as this tournament fills up quickly. Mary Lou will also be serving up prime rib dips with fries that night. The Turkey Shoot is always fun and I hope to see lots of you there. I hope you can all attend our 5
Annual Thanksgiving to Remember. Dinner is free and all are welcome. In this time when so many people are out of work
this is our way of giving a little something back to our community. If  you are able to come up and volunteer please contact Amy or Sean McGrath. They will need help with prepping on  Wednesday the 26th and of course on Thanksgiving Day.
Okay, I KNOW this is early, but the annual Kid‟s Christmas party is fast approaching. The party is December 14
 from 1
3pm. The coloring contest entry/sign-up sheet can be found on page 9 of this newsletter. Please have your kids, grandchildren, nieces and/or nephews color the picture and drop it off at the club. There are prizes for the  best picture in various age groups. The deadline is December 1
. Santa needs time to get the presents from his workshop at the North Pole to West Seattle wrapped and addressed to each child. Lunch for each child is free (please make sure you let us know how many kid/adult meals we will need to provide). There will be a minimal charge for each adult lunch.  Yours in Sisterhood, Linda Fittro Madam President
