Acts 29
Revised English by Jeremy Kapp
1 And Paul, full of the blessings of Christ, and abounding in the spirit, departed out of Rome, determining to go into Spain, for he had a long timeproposed to journey there, and was minded also to go from there to Britain.

[1]
2 For he had heard in Phoenicia that some of the children of Israel, about thetime of the Assyrian captivity, had escaped by sea to “the Isles far off” asspoken by the Prophet, and called by the Romans Britain.3 And
the Lord
commanded the gospel to be preached far from here tothe Gentiles, and to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.4 And no man hindered Paul: for he testified boldly of Jesus before theofficials and among the people; and he took with him some of the
brethren
which abode with him at Rome, and they took shipping at Ostrium andhaving the winds fair, were brought safely into a sanctuary of Spain.5 And many people gathered together from the towns and villages, and thehill country; for they heard of the conversion of the Apostles, and the manymiracles which he had done.6 And Paul preached mightily in Spain, and great multitudes believed andwere converted, for they perceived he was an apostle sent from God.
[2]
7 And they departed out of Spain, and Paul and his company found a shipin Armorica sailing to Britain, and sailed in it, and passed along the SouthCoast, until they reached a port called Raphinus.

8. Now when it was voicedabroad that the Apostle had landed on their coast, great multitudes of theinhabitants met him, and they treated Paul courteously and he entered in atthe east gate of their city, and lodged in the house of a Hebrew, one of hisown nation.
[3]
9 And on the next day, he came and stood upon Mount Lud and the peoplecrowded at the gate, and assembled in the Broadway, and he preached of Christ to them, and they believed the Word and testimony of Jesus.
[4]
10. And at evening the Holy Spirit fell upon Paul, and he prophesied, saying,“In the last days the God of Peace will dwell in the cities, and its inhabitantswill be numbered: and in the seventh numbering of the people, their eyes shallbe opened, and the glory of their inheritance will shine out before them. Thenations will come up to worship on the mount that testifies of the patience andtolerance of a servant of
the Lord
.”

11 And in the latter-days news of the Gospel shall issue out out of Jerusalem, and the hearts of the people will rejoice, and fountains will be opened, andthere will be no more plague.12 In those days there will be wars and rumors of war; and a King will rise up,and his sword will be for the healing of the nations, and His peacemaking willabide, and the glory of His Kingdom will be a wonder among princes.13 And it came to pass that some of the Druids came to Paul privately, andshowed by their rites and ceremonies that they were descended from the Jewswhich escaped from bondage in the land of Egypt, and the Apostle believedthese things, and he gave them the kiss of peace.14 And Paul abode in his housing three months confirming in the faithand preaching Christ continually.
[5]
15 And after these things, Paul and his
brethren
departed fromRaphinius and sailed to Atium in Gaul. 16 And Paul preached in the Romangarrison and among the people, exhorting all men to repent and confesstheir sins.17 And there came to him some of the Belgae
[6]
to enquire of him of the newdoctrine, and of the man Jesus; and Paul opened his heart to them and toldthem all things that had happened to him, how it happened that Christ Jesuscame into the world to save sinners; and they departed, considering amongthemselves the things which they had heard.
[7]
18 And after much preaching and labor, Paul and his fellow laborers passedinto Helvetia, and came to Mount Pontius Pilate, where he who condemned
the Lord
Jesus dashed himself down headlong, and so miserably perished.
[8]
19 And immediately a stream gushed out of the mountain and washedhis body, broken in pieces, into a lake. 20 And Paul stretched out his handsupon the water, and prayed to
the Lord
saying, “O
Lord
God, give a signfor all nations that here Pontius Pilate which condemned your only-begotten Son, plunged down headlong into the pit.”21 And while Paul was speaking, a great earthquake came, and the face of the waters was changed, and the form of the lake was like that of the Son of Man hanging in an agony upon the
Cross
.22 And a voice came out of Heaven saying, “Even Pilate has escaped the
wrath
to come, for he washed his hands before the multitude at the bloodshedding of the Lord Jesus.”23 When, therefore, Paul and those that were with him saw the earthquake, and heard the voice of the angel, they glorified God, and were greatlystrengthened in the spirit.

[9]
24 And they journeyed and came to Mount Julius where stood two pillars, one on the right hand and one on the left, erected by Caesar Augustus
.
25And Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, stood up between the two pillars, saying, “Men and
brethren
these stones which you see today will testify of my journey here; and truly I say, they will remain until the outpouring of thespirit upon all nations, neither will the way be hindered throughout allgenerations.” 26 And they went out and came to Illtricum, intending to goby Macedonia into Asia, and grace was found in all the
churches
, and theyprospered and had
 peace
. Amen.

41:
But theyformed this plan for themselves, that they would leave the multitude of the nations and go toa more distant region, where mankind had never lived,
42:
that there at least they mightkeep their statutes which they had not kept in their own land.
43:
And they went in by thenarrow passages of the Euphrates river.
44:
For at that time the Most High performed signsfor them, and stopped the channels of the river until they had passed over.
45:
Through thatregion there was a long way to go, a journey of a year and a half; and
that country is called  Arzareth.

46:
“Then they dwelt there until the last times; and now, when they are about tocome again,

the Most High will stop the channels of the river again, so that they may beable to pass over. Therefore you saw the multitude gathered together in peace.

Hi. Thanks for posting this with invaluable notes. I like this lost chapter and proclaim it to others that it sounds like scripture to the Spirit that dwells and discerns inside of me! Im going to be making my own Bible translation and restore any lost texts that Im convinced were and still are inspired by God even if every man be found a liar and subtract from the truth because they are unworthy

Hi Nicole, The most valuable addition I can suggest for your translation would be the addition of the father's name as found in the Syriac Peshitta, it is just like our New Testament, but renders the father's name as "Yahweh," rather than "the Lord." Thanks for commenting!

Oh, mjp... Did you say Paul shouldn't be in the Bible? Acts was written by Luke, and chapter 9 says the LORD chose Paul to bring his name to the gentiles; who is wrong, Luke or the Lord? I agree Jesus said there are only 12 Apostles, and 12 thrones in heaven for them, but God certainly needed his writings, wrong or right, they brought his name to the nations.

It seems Apostels' went exculsively and inclusively to Eurasia. Indeed Asia is downtrodden and cursed.

I will most likely add Thomas' Gospel to my site someday too, but that does not mean I believe it to be scripture... It seems to be a late creation, no ancient copies found. I believe, as all scholars do, that it is a false writing made for a small group's agenda.

Then what about Apostle Thomas's books who chief ministry was in India and others who did in Middle East. Because of which it is difficult to spread Gospel in Asia for natives consider it to be alien religion. Go by essence rather than appearance. Eurasians got their books included in their Bible thus it is their book not Asians.

What are your qualifications for determining what is scripture? The Eastern Church has different books than a Protestant Bible. The Ethiopian Church contains the Book of Enoch. The Catholic Church has different books too... Everyone claims to offer you the truth, but who can really determine the truth without studying what's out there? I'm certainly NOT claiming this to be scripture, but remember,

Don't forget Paul was chosen by the LORD (Yahweh) to bring his name to the nations... this is not said of Thomas or any other. Acts 9 says this, and is NOT written by Paul... If some other nation has found Christ by reading some other book, Good for them! ...but I have never read that story.

Correction The writtings of Paul shouldn't have been in the Bible for he wasn't the direct disciple of Jesus.

You should also consider the politics played. The scriptures written in other parts of Asia weren't included in Bible. The writtings of Paul should have been in the Bible for he wasn't the direct disciple of Jesus. It doesn't mean I'm against Paul.

So many people after the 'Lost House of Israel' to lead it astray and to eternal destruction! I pray to God to save us from these false prophets and hypocrites, false teachers. May the false prophets have their reward so that they may not lead more people with them in the wrong ways! Woe unto those who seek something 'more than the Scriptures' and try to mix with the holy that which is not holy

Thanks for your comment; I don't claim this to be scripture, I only post it to let people know of its existence. I collect rare things like this and like to share them.

Sorry, but the book of Thomas - while a very interesting read - is not in the NT as stated here.

I'm sorry, but this does not read at all like the book of Acts. It was obviously not written by Luke. It also does not have the feel of Pauline writings. There is no indication in anything I know that Paul ever wrote any kind of history like this. This definitely smells like a fraud. It is more like something you would read in the Urantia book or some other fraudulent work.

that's really interesting, i'd never heard of it before this. thanks for sharing!
