For this task you will work in 3 groups
 
Each group will be given a director to focus on: Haneke, Mierelles or Filho Mendonca.
 
Making notes on your mind map, identify the following:

An overview of the director’s work or stylistic approach in his films

narrative techniques used in the film
o
 
recurrent themes throughout the film
o
 
Formal style
 
use of camera,
 
editing,
 
mise-en-scene
 
sound
 
use your notes from previous lessons, the reading and search the Internet to help you.
TASK 3
 –
 
Documenting the directors’ visual style in the Case Study films
 
Now you have made detailed notes on your director’s style, you will document these in
a visual format.
 
Using the same structure as the mind map you made your notes on, make a prezi or powerpoint that documents your findings.
 
Give as much detail as possible, this will go onto the blog and will be used by the class for revision purposes.
