The Task
Background
The Papakura Museum traces the city's history back to Papakura's first settlement in1847, and includes a record of the military presence that has been here since the1860s. The reflection of this past is recorded through an array of over 10,000 itemsand photographs.Co-founded originally by Lloyd Walker and Ernie Clark, the Papakura Museumopened in 1982. This was possible through a lot of fundraising, passion and good planning.Today most of the staff is made up of volunteers and others who all hold a strongsense of dedication towards the community.
