SUPPORT SOLDIERS, ENGINEERS BUILD NEW JOINTSECURITY STATION IN BAGHDAD

BAGHDAD, Iraq --
Baghdad's Hurriyah neighborhood has a new joint U.S.-Iraqisecurity station thanks to the efforts of Germany-based support Soldiers from VCorps’ 1st Infantry Division and engineer troops from Fort Hood, Texas.The station is designed to give Americanand Iraqi Soldier a safe base in which tolive and conduct missions in the area.Soldiers of Company A, 299th ForwardSupport Battalion, part of 1st InfantryDivision's 2nd Brigade Combat Team,played a critical role in the construction of the station. The "Assassins" wereresponsible for transporting and assisting with the emplacement of the concretebarriers used to construct a fortified perimeter around the JSS. The transportation of the barriers took five days.
