Unofficial Election Night Results by County
Welcome to the NYS Board of Elections Election Night Reporting Page. Please be advised that the polls in New York State close at 9pm. It may take some time after 9pm for results to begin to show on this page. We will have results for the six statewide ballot propositions. If a county has not yet uploaded statewide election information to this website or if you are looking for local election results , please contact the county board of elections.
Statement on the Unofficial Nature of Election Night Returns
The preliminary election night results displayed on this web site are based on the results reported by each county and are strictly unofficial and are posted on the web as a convenience to the public. New York State Election Law requires a complete recanvass of all votes cast on Election Day and the counting of all valid absentee, affidavit, and military ballots before the Election Results can be certified. This process will take place within 15 days of the election. After the recanvass, each local Board certifies the election result pursuant to and in accordance with the procedures set forth in the applicable portions of New York State Election Law (see NYS Election Law, Sections 3-222, 9-200, 9-208) and forwards them to the State Board for statewide certification.
