Suggestion for Improving Facilities in SM kg.pandan
The Prefectorial Board of SM kg. pandan had a meetingon 17 sept. 2004 at 2.00pmld in the prefectorial room. Themeeting was called by our head prefects , nazrin bin arshadbecause there have been many complaints about thecondition of the school. Here we would like present a detailedreport of a meeting to the principal of SM kg. pandan forfuther action and consideration. The first issue that was discussed was theunsatisficatory service and high food prices in the schoolcanteen. The canteen seems to be short of workers becausethere was only two people handling the huge crowd of students during recess. Due to this, some students are notable to buy their food on time. In addition, the price of foodseems rather expensive for school students. For example, aplate of fried chicken is rm2.00. most of the students onlybring only rm1.00 to school, so there they are only able tobuy light food like bread and bun. There is an urgent need to improve the cleanliness of theschool. The first place to start is the school toilet.Usually, after recess the toilet are in a deplorable condition. The workers need to wash the toilet as soon as recess isover. Furthermore in the canteen, the food is spilt all over thefloor, living behind stand and stench. Cormfortable inc The next point of discussion was the safety of thestudent. Since the traffic is very heavy infront of the schoolafter school is over there need to be a pedestriancroosing.even a zebra crossing with a traffic warden eould be
ideal for the time being. This is due to the facts that theyhave been minor accident in the past couple of month. We hope that the school authorities would take thenecessary action to improve the condition of the school sothat the student would have safe, clean and cormfortableenvironment in which they could studyReport by,

story ending with: “we had never laughed somuchin our life”
The celebration of deepavali is the most prominent festival inmy area. My father built his house in his family land which wasone an estate. Many of the people who were estate workersslowly bought over piece of land and built their house here.Eventually it has become an Indian settlement. So naturallydeepavali is the festival that is grandly celebrated in this area. Two weeks before deepavali, I could smell delicacies such asmarukku and laddo could be smelt in the air. Since the houses arequite near each other we could hear the clamour of making thesefestive goodies. Very often the whole family is involved in thepreparation of of making them. Then comes the shopping spree. The nearest town, klang, hasan Indian street. There are rows of Indian textile shops. Thestreets will be filled with Indians shopping for deepavali clothes. Throngs of Indians visit these shops and come back with theirhands loaded with plastic bags. The best part of it is the eve of the festival. All of us will be inour homes preparing for the prayers to god. This is the time wethink of the deceased, especially our grandparents. After that, wehave our family dinner. Then we would start the joyous bylightning up oil lamps and playing firecrackers. We could hear theneighbours competing with their display of crackers. The womenfolk wake up early in the morning to preparespecial breakfast and cook a lunch for the guests. On deepavalidays, the settlement is scattered with children running around intheir new clothes. Some exchanging goodies and visiting each
