Spencer Williams IVJessica LambMaybe near a year agothey saw her walkingtalking and smilingI even saw her So I ask:“Who is Jessica Lamb?”Jessica Lamb lives somewhere in the Falkland Islands. Everyday, she takes a private jet (that she owns) tosomewhere in Colorado. The pilot painstakingly, with precision so perfect that she finds herself applauding, lands the aircraft, the Harrier, in a small parking lot. Ten miles outside the school, she phonesa limo (they hear the name Jess, they run) that immediately arrives for her service. Behind the driver shesits with blue jeans, sunglasses are (somewhere). She tells him where to go. What routes to take. “Useyour head.” With stacks of food and plates to eat on, a large array of wine glasses, a television, somewhere farther back is a sound system with an LED display flashing billions of lights and colors, allfor the entertainment of Jessica Lamb lives in Broomfield.People change all the timeThe people who sat here everydaySpoke with words of fear and enlightenment.Yes, they know her I believe she just passed by again.Deep red, deep purple, deep brown hair I’m thinking of a song.Passing periods and Wednesday mornings.I must not be there yet.Where is Jessica Lamb?Define:“I’m Jess.”

2You’re silent now. I can’t see or hear you.Waiting outside a department store.Living off sugar. Food from vending machines.FIND US!!! Not for a whileWait. Wait and she’ll come. You’re losing faith.“I’m leaving.” No, no. Don’t leave.Hours pass.Purple. One of the most unsafe vehicles sold to auto consumers.CERI! CERI!Jess.“Jessica Lamb.”Who is this… Sandy?“Keep Your Neighborhood Clean” ?Into the night. Like a mountainfilled with street lights and chain storesAll so different and uniqueyet so similar.Yes, of course I know you, Sandy, with me still. She speaks

3Jess talks about, to, and with. She speaks. What kind of people are around Jessica Lamb? What are they to her? What are they all about? From random conversations while bagging groceries to a total reunion of one now known, she who walkshall-less. She talks, we listen.Yes. You are indeed Jessica Lamb.Inside a restaurant. Microphone in hand.Speaker sitting proudly on the table.Using a radio. A Mexican radio.Sound waves of Where is Jessica Lamb? What is it to know Jessica Lamb?Tell me, who are you to stand here in front of me, casually whatever the weather, standing, sitting, drivingto Chipotle, money in your pocket, black Zildgian hat, black jacket with patches and spikes, flannel jacketaround the waist, Misfits shirt, to say:Jess.Jess who?Who are you? Who is Jessica Lamb? Where is one to be Jessica Lamb, out of high school, into hell? Keysin the ignition. One to be spoken of through and around many.“Yeah, Jessica Lamb.”Where am I now?Where are you?

Who is this? I don't know a Spencer Williams. But I was in that band class, and I knew that Jessica Lamb and Ceri. I have not heard from her or of her in ages. She used to be my best friend. But she dropped out of high school after me and our other two good friends couldn't handle the stress and heartaches of being her friend any longer. Don't judge us for it. We did the right thing for our sanity

Spencer Williams replied:

but maybe their falling out was more gradual, as there indeed came to be a time when I didn't hear of her as much through band people. When I came up to CSU and met one Dana Daldos, he informed me of how they still kept in contact. One day, I'm sure I'll gather the stones to just talk to to good lady myself. I've just be somewhat hermity as of late. Luckily, she is aware of this poem.

Spencer Williams replied:

Their closeness to her greatly moved me towards writing about the effect she can have on someone who doesn't even really know her, but picks up on the feelings and mystique that surrounds her, and is equally effected by what she inspires. It's unfortunate to hear you had a falling out with her. Some people I know expressed something similar upon learning that she was leaving Monarch...

Spencer Williams replied:

In that time, I was introduced to her by one Brandon Fornasier, as he and a few other drumline people hung out with her on occasion. He invited me to spend time with her, Ceri, and a dude named Sandy one evening in Boulder, which prompted this poem.

Spencer Williams replied:

Thank you for your comment, Kaorikins. I'd respond to you with a message, but apparently you must subscribe to me first. This response will probably also be broken into multiple messages. I was not in band during the time Jessica Lamb was, nor do I remember Ceri engaging in such a thing, and so we may have missed each other. I was in drumline from spring 2001 to 2002, however.
