By persevering in living a Christian life, we are witnesses to what we believe and confident that Christ is always there to guide us. Who has been a powerful example for you of what it means to persevere in following Christ? How are you challenged by family and friends when trying to live your Catholic faith?

Join us for the conclusion of our Fall Speaker Series with Dr. Richard Grant of UT Austin! Dr. Grant will speak about how the four Gospels and the liturgy meet our deepest needs for security, companionship, power, and meaning. Help for victims of typhoon haiyan
Super Typhoon Haiyan, the equivalent of a Category 5 hurricane with sustained winds of 195 miles per hour, slammed into the Philippines on the evening of November 7, 2013, causing catastrophic damage and loss of life.
 Join us as we pray
for the victims of this storm, for their friends and families, and for the emergency and volunteer workers now helping them.
To donate
to Catholic Relief Services to help the people affected  by Super Typhoon Haiyan, please visit crs.org.
Catholic Campaign for human development
The collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development will be taken up next Sunday,
November 24
. The campaign helps such groups as Cooperation Texas, which helps people set up cooperative businesses. Our donations are helping people go from low-wage workers to  business owners. That will break the cycle of poverty. One of the new business owners shared about the difference this has made in her life. She did not mention money at all. She said she loves being a business owner because it enables her to be a better mother. Now if her child gets sick at school she can go tend to the needs of her child. That is what is different in her life. I would say that it is a good investment on our part to help many more people have the freedom to be good parents as well as freedom from poverty. For more information please see this week’s bulletin insert, and please be generous next week!
