Dear Lindbergh School District Residents:The support of our community is one of the most important factors when it comes tomaking sure that quality education is main-tained for all students. As we enter our 60th year of serving thecommunity, I am proud to say we have ampleevidence once again to demonstrate a highlevel of achievement in all of our schools:
•
Crestwood
and
Truman elementaryschools
were awarded the covetedGold Star Schools recognition by the Missouri Departmentof Elementary and Secondary Education, for outstandingstudent achievement.
•
All of our schools
, from elementary to high school, scoredin the top 10 rankings for the highest test scores in the state.
•
Long Elementary
was recognized as a State School of Character and then won this title on the national level.
•
Lindbergh School District
was last year’s National Districtof Character, representing the entire country. At Lindbergh Schools, we look at the total child. Great testscores are important, but so are fine arts, athletics, involvementand character. Our programs address all these areas of develop-ment and more, to ensure that students have a well-roundededucation. We’re also putting on our construction hats as we continue togrow. Over the next three years, we will continue rebuilding thedated facilities in our district, thanks to patron support for theProp R 2006 and 2008 bond issues. We pledge to you, our neigh-bors, to stretch our dollars to provide a school district that has notonly high achievement, but also modern, state-of-the-art facilities.Lindbergh Schools has been delivering outstanding educationto students since 1949, and even in times of recession andchange, you can rely on us to always strive to meet our mission.Former students are now parents of new students, and the cyclecontinues. We are the partnership that makes our communityunique and one that is a magnet to many seeking a quality life-style. Thank you for your support – we look forward to the newschool year.Sincerely,Jim SimpsonSuperintendent of Schools
