"At its regular meeting held on August 6, 2009, the Board of Fire Commissioners for Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety decided to move in a new direction as to the leadership of the fire district. As such, the Board made an initial determination that the employment agreement with Chief Tim Lemon, set to expire at the end of 2009, will not be renewed in 2010. Chief Lemon was placed on a voluntary administrative leave of absence effective August 7, 2009 while the details relating to the parties' separation are determined, and Deputy Chief Brad Doerflinger was appointed as interim chief."
