TopCoder Gives Developers a Place to Test Their Skills With New Services Powered by Amazon Web Services
Companies Launch Development Contests to Identify and Prototype Use Cases for AppStream
SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 13, 2013) - TopCoder , the
world's largest professional development and design community, today announced the launch of a series of innovation challenges for the new AWS service AppStream. AppStream provides developers with a dynamic way to stream entire applications, or their components, to a device. In an effort to identify the best scenarios for taking advantage of this type of application streaming as a service capability, TopCoder will run a series of challenges to gather the best ideas from the TopCoder community for how to use AppStream, and then will run subsequent challenges to prototype popular ideas. AppStream's streaming capabilities allow graphically and resource-intensive applications to run on low-performing devices. This enables developers to reach new end-users without having to constrain the design of an application to specific devices. Because the application is processed in the cloud, as opposed to on the device, it can port across platforms and helps protect the code from piracy.
