Brand new four-by-four KAMAZ 4326 defense vehicle having the payload of 3.2 tons has been built based on KAMAZ 43114 vehicle in a short time thanks to good operational pract tice of KAMAZ vehicles with the Armed Forces, KAMAZ owned service network and some des sign allowances. KAMAZ 4326 has had a new engine, original frame and suspension. The remaining units and installations have been unified with those of series-produced KAMAZ 43114: gearb box of model 142, double-disk clutch, transfer case of model 43114, steering of model 43114, KAMA-1260 tires, high-roofed cab, 4800x2420 mm platform. Military experts from frontier troops who are in charge of vehicle field tests stated that the vehicles are in complete compliance with the requirements placed on vehicles, which are in service with frontier troops. A sophisticated layout and design allowances of previous generation model KAMAZ 4310 provided for thorough update of this vehicle. As a result, KAMAZ 43114 def fense vehicle was developed in 1991. The new vehicle, which resembles its predecessors, Z-4310 vehicle, has a new and reliable engine, a modified gearbox of model 142, a transmission with interaxle and cross-axle differentials, centralized tire inflat tion system, a modified transfer case, enforced propeller shafts, new low and top gear shifti ing mechanism, extra fuel tank, high-roofed cab, KAMA-1260-1 wide cross-section tires of increased capacity. All of the above features provide for high maneuverability in most diffic cult fields.
