Lester Leland Petersen, 86, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, returned to his Heavenly Father Aug. 20, 1997. Born July 7, 1911 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Christian and Rose Bell Wright Petersen. Married Fae Vera Francom in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 6, 1935. Lester was employed for the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years and was a Veteran of World War II, where he served with the 746th Railroad Operating Battalion in Germany. Lester was employed for the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years and was a Veteran of World War II, where he served with the 746th Railroad Operating Battalion in Germany.Survivors: wife, Fae, Midvale; son, Brent and wife Susan, Sandy; daughter, Claudia Fae Weeks, West Jordan; eight grandchildren and five great, grandchildren. Preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services Saturday, August 23, 1997, at 1 p.m. in the Midvale 4th LDS Ward Chapel, 75 Olympus Street. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
