All working suraces o our premium urniture lines aremolded rom 5/8” thick solid thermosetting melamineplastic. Designed or high-trac commercial andinstitutional use, Vanuerum
Stelter tabletops and class-room urniture components are virtually indestructibleand easy to clean. They are available in a variety o colors and n-ish: wood-grain or solid. Vanerum
Stelter tabletops are made with re-processed (possible contribution to LEED certication requirements, con-tact us or details) maple and birch wood four mixed with melamineresin, then heated in molds under high pressure. Vanerum
Stelter’s lineo durable high-perormance tabletops are molded as a single unit withseamless edges that eliminate de-lamination. Seamless constructionhalts de-lamination, chipping, and bacterial growth. They’re resistantto household and commercial cleaning solvents, and highly sanitaryunder the most demanding conditions.
Manuacturing process: A veneer prole wrappingprocess employs a water-base polyvinylacetate gluesystem which is activated beore application with anacid catalyst. The glue is applied to the veneer by aroller applicator. The veneer is transported on a vacuum belt whichprevents the veneer rom warping while the glue is dried with ans andinrared radiation. The process employs a porous substrate, such asparticle board, which is heated by inrared radiation on all sides. Poly-vinylacetate glue is applied to the surace o the substrate, which willbe wrapped with veneer and the heat o the substrate plus additionalinrared radiation and ans evaporates and dries the glue. The glueon the substrate is dried or approximately 60–90 seconds and on theveneer or approximately 10–15 seconds on cross eed drying lines. The veneer is inverted on a side belt changer and orced into intimatecontact with the substrate by heated metal rollers. Rubber rollers applypressure and heat guns and inrared lamps apply process heat whichrapidly bonds the veneer to the substrate, producing a bond with highgreen strength which may be almost immediately sanded or milled. This process produces a veneer-wrapped molding with a glue lineimpervious to moisture

Tops and curbs shall be molded rom a modiedepoxy resin that has been specially compoundedand cured to provide optimium physical and chemicalresistance required or a heavy duty laboratory work-ing surace. Impregnated stone and/or urane resins are not equal.Tops and curbs shall be a uniorm mixture throughout, and shall notdepend on a surace coating that can be readily removed by chemicalor physical abuse.Tops and curbs shall be non-glaring matte nish and black in color. However, other nish colors are available. Tops shall be a thicknessas required with a drip grove provided on underside o all sink topexposed edges. All edges shall have slight radius. Curbs shall bebonded to the surace on the top to orm a square water-tight joint. Alljoints in tops to be bonded with an approved epoxy cement and shallbe smooth and water-tight. Counters with integral curbs shall have ajunction with a ¾” radius, except around columns and special cutouts, which will have a standard bonded curb.
