A Bahrain court has rejected an appeal to lift a travel ban on a senior opposition gure facing charges of encouraging anti-government violence in the Gulf nation. Lawyers backing Khalil alMarzooq also challenged the anti-terrorism codes under which he is charged, which can strip citizenship in some cases. A Bahraini court on Monday conrmed a travel ban imposed on prominent Shiite opposition gure Khalil Marzooq, on trial for inciting terrorism, a judicial source said. Marzooq's defence team had requested lifting the

travel ban ordered at the rst hearing in the trial of the former lawmaker, who was also in court Monday. The criminal court set the next hearing for December 12. Marzooq was arrested on September 17 after being called in for questioning and later charged by the public prosecutor with "promoting acts that amount to terrorist crimes".
