Flower arranging can be a profoundly effective means for males on the autistic spectrum to acquire and develop empathic and affective skills. This short and easy-to-read guide shows you how to get even the most recalcitrant man interested in flower arranging. Includes the 4 key rules of successful flower arranging for men.
The guide also includes a mini case study (a bit like one of Dear Deidre's cases in The Sun) so you see how I go about putting together a simple arrangement myself, using just a saw and one of those rubberised buckets with handles.

Flower Arrangingfor

Men
A useful guide byAndrew Carey

Hi,In my opinion, D.P. Gumby did us all an enormousdisservice when he suggested that men were soprofoundly boorish and insensitive that we couldn’teven manage to put the flowers in a vase the rightway up (i.e. stalks go in first). If you don’t rememberit, you can watch Michael Palin in the cliphere.I maintain that the effect of this episode of MontyPython’s Flying Circus has been deeply deleterious.Rather like the impact of whoever it was who firstsaid that men couldn’t multitask.

If you doubt me, google “flower arranging for men”and you will find that just seven results are returned, including a link to the Monty Python clip.Revealingly, one of the links is to theannual flowershowat the lovely village of Hornton in Oxfordshire,England which had a special
Flower Arranging for Men
category in 2004. The category was not repeated insubsequent years. I wonder why!Incidentally, my friend Milner Caroline lives nearthere. My contention is that, by stereotyping flowerarranging as a pastime suitable only for women(especially members of the WI) and some gay bottoms(in the technical sense), propermen are being denied a chance toexplore their right brain potential.Dan Pink(great guy, great name)wrote a book called
A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rulethe Future.
It explains why weneed to be good at communicating
