Mayor Proclaims Mourning Day


Monday has been proclaimed a day of mourning in Farmington for the late President John F. Kennedy. The proclamation was issued Saturday by Farmington Mayor Oscar Thomas. Thomas said. "Not only the town of Farmington, and the United States of America, but the whole world has sufered a grievous loss by the death of our president. . . "The people in Farmington wish to pay tribute to Pre.sident Kennedy, who gave his life for his country. Opening of Holiday Season Postponed Until Wednesday


Farmington's annual Christmas opening ceremonies and events have been postponed from Monday to Wednesday, out of respect for the late President John E. Kennedy. The downtown Christmas lighting, originally scheduled for Monday at 5 p.m.. also will be postponed until the same hour Wednesday.
