WEATHER OVER DELHI DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE 2013

Temperatures
The maximum temperatures were largely below normal from 16 to 18, markedly below normal on 11 and 13, appreciably below normal on 19, appreciably above normal on 5, 6, 10, 21, 22 & 29 and remained normal/nearly normal during the remaining days of month. The maximum temperature reached its maximum value of 43.6C on 5th, whereas, the all time record for highest temperature for the month is 46.7 C recorded on 17 June 1945. The minimum temperatures were markedly below normal on 17 and 18, appreciably below normal on 16 and 19, appreciably above normal on 5 and 22 and remained normal/nearly normal during the remaining days of month. The mean maximum and minimum temperatures during the month were 37.9C and 27.6C against their normal values of 38.7 C and 28.0 C respectively.

Rainfall
The city witnessed rainfall activity with 08 numbers of days against an average of 6 days. The total rainfall recorded th during the month was 119.5 mm against the normal value of 65.5 mm. Southwest Monsoon arrived in Delhi on 16

June, 2013, two weeks advance from normal date i.e. 29th June.
