ANGEL FOOD
(Service project)Chair: Cathy Brown Budget for 2009-10: $0This project provides volunteers to assist with local monthly food plan distribution. The 2009schedule if for distribution on the fourth Saturday of each month.
HUG BASKETS
(Service project)Chair: Person who brings proposal Budget for 2009-10: $0
This project provides a basket of necessary items to a needy person / family in the community.This person / family can be anyone who needs extra care. Occasionally, the Chapter will also do
a group collection for needed items (e.g., Christmas gifts to Women’s Crisis Center).
The
individual who brings the need to the Chapter’s attention will chair the project until its
completion. Suggested need should be brought first to Cathy Brown, Projects Chair, who willthen bring the proposal to Board and Chapter.
JA SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TANEY COUNTY
(Service project)Chair: Jerra Caldwell Budget for 2009-10: $2000
This project is a $500 scholarship donated to each of four area county high schools (Branson,Kirbyville, Forsyth and Hollister) awarded to graduating high school students (male or female)who show initiative and willingness to volunteer in their communities. Scholarships are notrenewable.
NIGHTINGALES

This project provides volunteer hours to enhance the lives of residents in care facilities, write
letters, address Christmas cards, or anything to make a resident’s day
a little brighter. Thisproject also includes Glitz and Glamour, a fun afternoon of make-up and jewelry given toresidents of a local senior care facility.
PROM DRESS PROJECT
(Service project)Chair: Suzanne Newkirk Budget for 2009-10: $1,000.00
The Prom Dress Project provides high school girls who might not otherwise have an opportunityto enjoy their proms, with gently worn or new prom dresses and accessories. Girls are identifiedthrough
high school counselors and are allowed to “shop”
from dresses at designated times.
RUN FROM THE COUCH 5K AND FAMILY FITNESS WALK
(Finance / Service project)Chair: Pam Foudray / Linda Lewis Budget for 2009-10 (Walk): $300.00
The Run from the Couch 5K is a fund-raising event held to raise funds and provide a healthy activity inthe community. Held in conjunction with the Run From the Couch 5K, the Family Fitness Walk provides aone-mile family fitness walk with various activity stations along the way. Each station promotesmovement and healthy activities.
