cool -- I suppose then Julius would have a copy of the source. this is great to know because I would like to revise it sometime. I guess it is actually not that bad. it is just funny to see all these ghosts of our past appear in strange places.

I believe this was given as a handout for a lecture in one of Julius Smith's or Bosi's courses at CCRMA. I don't recall which one though.

this was written in 2001, certainly not 2006.... not sure how it resurfaced as I myself no longer have a copy. perhaps someone else recompiled the latex source and uploaded it on 2/19/06? this was a preface to a one-time seminar I gave on Bayesian rhythm tracking which I had started to work on in the summer of 2001 -- was never meant to be a general purpose tutorial. I hope it is helpful, but probably could be written much better, in less complicated language and so forth...
