The Fat Phobia Scale was originally created in 1984 to determine and measure fat phobic attitudes.[1] It contained 50 items that were to be ranked on a five point scale, with 1 having the least fat phobic attitudes and 5 having the most fat phobic attitudes. Recently, the scale has been changed to make it shorter. The fat phobia scale - short form now contains 14 items that are to be ranked on a five point scale to measure fat phobic attitudes. The new scale is just as effective in measuring fat phobic attitudes as the old one is despite its shortened length. 14 Items of the New Scale Lazy/Industrious No Will Power/Has Will Power Attractive/Unattractive Good Self-Control/No Self-Control Fast/Slow Having Endurance/Having No Endurance Active/Inactive Weak/Strong Self-Indulgent/self-sacrificing Dislikes Food/Likes Food Shapeless/Shapely Undereats/Overeats Insecure/Secure Low Self-Esteem/High Self-Esteem[2]

To think about:
Are there acceptable or justifiable prejudices or biases? Whats cultural, whats personal? Whats based on choice? On ignorance?

Whose responsibility is it to save someone from harmful behavior?

What stereotypes are combated in the film? Which are perpetuated?

To write about, right now. Give examples. When youre done, adios.
Are there acceptable or justifiable prejudices or biases? Can its cultural be over-used?

Is there a bias that youve been a victim of? Is there a bias that you would admit to?
