My husband was bitten on his leg by a big dog yesterday. While it was a a seemingly healthy dog. His teethpunctured the skin deeply. The bite was bloody, painful and swelled up quickly. We needed to go to a place where thewaiting time wasn't three hours or more long and remembered we'd received a notice from this new place. We wentthere at 7:30 PM. You enter an office building a receptionist advises you to go downstairs, there is an elevator, thisbrand new and clean facilitiy is in the basement.
My husband was seen immediately by an excellent doctor, there wer e about four other medical people there. He wasgiven a tetanus shot, a prescription for an antibiotic, very comprehensive instructions and we were home all within 45minutes. This place is new, people haven't discovered it yet, but when they do it will surely be more, deservedly, crowded, asthey have evening hours, and in the near future going to be open 24 hours a day, Now they are open Mon, Tues,Thurs Fri 7PM - 8 AM, Wed 8PM - 8AM, Sat-Sun 5PM Sat through 8AM Monday. And until 10PM there is amplestreet parking. For some reason there is no parking 10PM - 6AM. Since St. VIncents closed, we feel very panicky about where to go, should we need urgent medical care. We know 7th Ave. and 23rd Street is always a very long wait, and going over to Beth Israel at night is a huge, long, ordealnowadays, so we felt very relieved, and grateful to find this facility, and it will absolutely be our place to go, should wewe need urgent medical care in the future.

I was so disappointed to get a letter in the mail saying that this facility would be closing at the end of July. With St.Vincent's gone, this is another blow to the medical needs of Chelsea and the Village. I am also not a fan of Beth Israel's walk-in clinic on 23rd & 7th. Endless waits and they do not take certain insurance.Very sad.
