Enumeration of red blood cells: Reagents: RBC diluting fluid s Procedure: Using a red blood cell pipette of haemocytometer,

well mixed blood was drawn up to 0.5 mark and RBC diluting fluid was taken up to mark II. The fluid blood mixture was shaken and transferred onto the counting chamber. The cells were allowed to settle to the bottom of the chamber for 2 min. See the fluid does not get dried. Using 45X or high power objective the RBCs were counted uniformly in the larger corner squares. The cells were expressed as number of cells x1012/L or x 106 / cu.mm
