CFdesign 2010 provides an innovative multi-scenariodesign study environment allowing engineers to
dene critical ow and thermal values for theirsimulations so the best performing design optionsare instantaneously brought to the forefront fordeeper investigation and condent decision making.

Top Ten Reason
s
to Start Using

Before beginning the development of CFdesign 2010,we spent a lot of time interviewing customers. Wewanted to better understand how CFdesign addressedtheir engineering needs and what we could change to helpcompanies get the business impact they need from theirCFD investment.

 We learned and 2010 delivers:
• A more comprehensive, CAD-driven environment toachieve pass/fail and what-if engineering objectives.

• A faster, more exible interface for the setup andmanagement of design studies.

• An intuitive and instantaneous process for assessingperformance comparatively against competing designsas well as specied critical values.
Design Study Environment

Decision Center
CFdesign 2010 has a new exible decision-makingenvironment called the Decision Center. This toolempowers you to make smart design decisions, quicklyby extracting and comparing specic results values fromeach of your designs and scenarios. CFdesign thencreates a complete performance picture by comparingall the results against the targeted critical performancevalues.

Critical Value Summaries
Identify any 3D point, collection of points, a plane or apart location within or on the model and CFdesign willdisplay a critical value summary for all designs andscenarios in the design study. This function provides theinsight that is impractical to obtain from physical testingand simply unavailable from any other CFD application.

Critical Value Graphing
Generate x/y plots and graphs using Critical Value andSummary Items. Get the complete performance picturein the language everyone understands. This is great forpass-fail studies and the preliminary down-select processfor a what-if study.
