Integrating a Gender Perspective

Gender equality is recognised as one of the drivers of change in the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Strategy 2020, and has been integrated into the PSDI activities in two ways:

1. gender mainstreaming, which has been part of PSDI since 2008 and 2. economic empowerment of women, which was established as a focus area in June 2013.

PSDI is actively working to identify spaces to initiate pilot programs that encourage womens engagement with the private sector. Currently we are focused on strengthening the voice of women operating in the markets and we are encouraging womens participation in the renewable energy sector and coconut oil production.
