Phase 1: Valutazione e fattibilit
Le PMI beneficeranno di finanziamenti per esaminare la fattibilit scientifica o tecnica e il potenziale commerciale di una idea nuova (proof of concept) al fine di sviluppare un progetto di innovazione. In caso di esito positivo di tale valutazione, il finanziamento proseguir anche nella o nelle fasi successive.
Phase 3: commercializzazione
Questa fase mira a facilitare l'accesso al capitale privato e ad ambienti propizi all'innovazione. Sono previsti collegamenti con gli strumenti finanziari (cfr. parte II, sezione "Accesso al capitale di rischio del presente allegato") ad esempio accordando alle PMI che hanno superato le fasi 1 e/o 2 priorit nell'ambito di una dotazione finanziaria riservata. Le PMI beneficeranno inoltre di misure di sostegno come messa in rete, formazione, tutorato e consulenza. Inoltre questa fase pu comportare misure di incentivazione degli appalti precommerciali e degli appalti per soluzioni innovative)

[Bottom-up approach]
Research fields are freely chosen by the applicants, except: research activity aiming at human cloning for reproductive purposes research activity intended to modify the genetic heritage of human beings which could make such changes heritable research activities intended to create human embryos solely for the purpose of research or for the purpose of stem cell procurement, including by means of somatic cell nuclear transfer areas of research covered by the EURATOM Treaty
[Mobility rule]
At the time of the relevant deadline for submission of proposals, or recruitment/secondment by the host organisation, depending on the action, researchers shall not have resided or carried out their main activity (work , studies, etc) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date.
