Businesses

My caste is Vaishya, traditionally vaishyas profession was to do business, lend money, trade in goods etc etc. Even now the number of families of this caste, in businesses is rather large, they are industrialists, traders and politicians, business now has become of many other kinds too. . For example Laxmi arain Mittal, who has made a name in steel business world wide, and is a billionaire. !he business of almost all businessmen is to make money, as much as they can, and then splurge on their offspring close relatives ot surprising that L Mittal recently spent a few million "sixty million##$ Euro on the marriage of his niece that was organi%ed in &arcelona, the president of 'pain, (rtur Mas, was an invitee too. othing really surprising, 'pain is under an economic downturn and can welcome the millions of Euro for his country, howsoever it may be, even if it is at the price of inconvenience of citi%en residents of &arcelona. )oming back to my family, my grandfather* my father were no business men. !hey only served in some office, as clerks. Meself only engaged in the business of words, knowledge. + deal in knowledge, the currency is not that of any bank, it is the currency of appreciation of happiness to learn. ,uite unconventional business## + love to gain wisdom, may be bit of honor too. + am reminded of a -uote of .lato in this context/ There are three classes of men, lovers of wisdom, lovers of honor, and lovers of gain ~ Plato + know + am not a uni-ue businessmen of this kind, nor the most successful either. &ut, then what business is like that0 Rakesh Mohan Hallen
