Intelligent Question is a majorinnovation within BusinessObjectsXI Release 2. It allows non-traditional users of BI tools to easilyask structured questions of businessinformation: Who were my top tencustomers this year? What productsdid they buy?Users can dynamically askquestions through a simple,question-based interface that allowsthem to save favorites, then moveto a web-based query and analysisfront end (Web Intelligence™) for further analysis or export to Excel.

BusinessObjects XI Release 2 includesDesktop Intelligence—the new namefor BusinessObjects full client. Byusing Desktop Intelligence, customerscan protect their existing investmentand benefit from the latest trustedand proven BusinessObjects XIplatform.
Desktop Intelligence documents benefit from full portalsupport such as Encyclopedia and Discussions.

Publishing 
BusinessObjects XI Enterprise Release 2 provides the capability to personalize anddeliver content to a list of subscribers. A publication maintains a list of subscribers, inthe form of principals, as well as profile targets, and each recipient’s profile values.When you schedule a publication, each recipient receives a personalized copy of theassociated report, based on the publication’s profile targets and the recipients’ profile
 
values. Users can subscribe to or unsubscribe to a publication, provided that theyhave the necessary credentials.
Process Tracker
Process Tracker is part of BusinessObjects Enterprise, designed to align businessintelligence with an organization’s business processes. It allows an organization tovisually map, track, and communicate standardized business processes through a setof activities and their associated business content for more consistent and proactivedecision making. Process Tracker helps users visually outline the steps required toconsistently follow a business process, such as Sarbanes-Oxley review or a vendorperformance analysis. With each step in a business process, users can link associatedBI content for easy access to the key information they need to make informeddecisions. Accountability can be assigned to responsible owners for each milestone ina business process. Plus project stakeholders can add comments to each stage fortimely collaboration.
Encyclopedia
Encyclopedia is a key new innovationin BusinessObjects XI for creatingreference guides for BI content. Itprovides end users with a faster wayto locate and interpret their corporateinformation for confident, accuratedecision making. With Encyclopedia,end users can deliver handy BIreference guides right from their BIportal for instant access to theunderlying context. Visual mapsshow relationships between BIdocuments making it easy to locaterelevant information. Plus a searchpanel enables end users to locatespecific BI content using everyday business terms. An overview panel explains thepurpose of a document, what business questions it helps answer, and how it is bestused. In addition, a glossary of synonyms and definitions explains the key termsused for consistent interpretation.
Encyclopedia brings business context to information. Here,a list of business questions is provided to help the user understand how to use the document.
Discussions
Discussions provide threaded noteson a specific report, document, ordashboard Users can create andmaintain comments on documentsand to share that valuable insightacross the organization, providing agreater understanding of the contextof existing documents.
InfoView
BusinessObjects Enterprise XIincludes an all-new BI portal calledInfoView. With its single webinterface, InfoView can access and interact with any type of BI content includingreports, analytics, dashboards, scorecards, and strategy maps. InfoView provides aconsistent user interface for both Java and .Net platforms. InfoView replaces both theprevious BusinessObjects InfoView and the Crystal Enterprise™ ePortfolio product.
Threaded discussions provide greater business insight.
