St Bernard Parish Home Rule Charter Change Special Election : Councilman Compensation

The salary of the council members shall be established as an average...from Plaquemines, St Charles, Jefferson, St Tammany, and Orleans...shall be adjusted, if necessary, once at the start of each council term.

Annual Council compensation now is $7200 for members and $8400 for members at large. Pay increase to $33,000 a year based on these estimates would be approximate $25,800 yearly pay raise and a budget increase for all 7 members of about $175,000.

Orleans ($42,500), Jefferson ($62,042), St Charles ($12,780), St. Tammany($12,300) and Plaquemines (est. $37,588), then the pay would be somewhere in the $33,000 per year range. Some of these positions are permanent. Others are part time. The plaquemines councilman make 1/3 of the annual salary of the 25th Judicial Judges which I thoughts was $112,764.
That's not a bad raise from $8,400 to $33,000. It's about 392%
