Plot of US GDP in Troy Oz of Gold. I found it interesting that in terms of gold, the US economy has been shrinking since 2000. The average growth since 1930 is about 4%. Why gold? Gold is a reasonably stable yardstick that has worked for Millenia and no Central Bank can print it.
