Heidi Preuss Grew & Michael Barnes
Brumfield’s Gallery
January 11 - March 1
Brumfield’s Gallery’s first show o 2014 unites Heidi Preuss Grew’s delicate and yet sturdy ceramic sculptures with Michael Barnes’ surreal lithogaphs. Heidi Preuss Grew’s work pairs well with Barne’s imagery as the two artists use the human psyche as a direct source o inspiration or their artworks. By melding humans, animals, and symbolism together, both artists use their pieces to elicit personal interpretation by the viewer. Each explores the deepest levels o the human condition. Grew’s handbuilt ceramic sculptures use aspects o human and animal interaction to create works that have a specific meaning and psychological impact. Te results are pieces that allow the viewer more reedom in their interpretations, as the pieces straddle real and fictional worlds.
