Dear All, When we create a music video for a band, the band doesnt have an awful lot of input,

they pitch their idea for what they want to do, but it is out of their control after that, however myself and Curtis Tew (The Vocalist) have been friends for many years and share a lot of similarities in what we like and what we dont, meaning that we worked very closely with the band and our creation of their music video. Our story was that a crazy fan had decided to kidnap the band and then saw the wrong in what she was doing and changed her mind, therefore releasing them. We are no Shia LaBeouf, we did get ideas from other pieces of texts, but none were copied precisely, we used a range of different texts and media to influence us. Regarding your comment saying that it was a clear double of Take Thats video, the influence for ours was definitely there, however, it was not a complete copy of them, as their music video was definitely not original and unique to them. The 1975 classic film Carrie influenced us a lot in reference to the female and the emotions on the band members faces that we should make them have. A range of different females influenced our Mise-En-Scene for the female. Courtney Love, Jessica Rabbit, Bellatrix Estrange are definitely three that could have influenced us, however we were thinking more along the lines of Taylor Momsen, Coraline and a Floria Sigismondi style or creativity. Being within the same music genre as You Me At Six and The Blackout, of course we have seen their videos, but they did not influence us for all of the video, it was scenes in Hollyoaks, Corrination Street, and other general soaps that had dealt with kidnapping which enabled us to create a perfect vision for something that wouldnt look too glamorised for our video as it just wouldnt work if it looked too Hollywood. Nothing is original, and nothing ever will be completely original, it is impossible with the amount of media articles that is out there. We have used ideas from other people, but to create a different image. We hope that this has cleared your view on us and the music video, Yours, Shynola.
