Hunting hours are one-half hour before sunriseto sunset.
Shotguns must be plugged to limit overall shotshellcapacity to

when hunting all migratory birds.
ALL migratory bird seasons are open to nonresidents.
SPECIES ID:
Head or fully feathered wing must remain
attached to bird while in transit from the eld to the hunter’s
residence for ducks, mergansers, coots and moorhens,snipe, geese, and swan.
IMPORTANT
Any person, except a Nevada resident under 12,who plans to hunt any kind of migratory game bird,including ducks, geese, swans, coots, dove, snipe,or moorhens in Nevada this year, is required toANNUALLY obtain a Harvest Information Program(HIP) validation number and write it on their hunting
license before entering the eld. The validation
number is free, and is available by simply calling1-866-703-4605. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Serviceis conducting the nationwide harvest survey.Some migratory bird hunters may also receive aquestionnaire provided by NDOW in the mail.All countiesexceptLincoln andClark10/20LincolnClark10/20

Hunters have a new tool tocatalog their annual take – theNevada Hunter’s Journal.In the free pocket-sized journal, sportsmen can recordtheir memories of pursuing smallgame. The Hunter’s Journal hasa section with a place to recordsuch information as speciespursued, location, conditions,and harvest information. Itis available to sportsmenpurchasing licenses at NDOW
ofces.
NDOW typically mails outgame questionnaires well after seasons have ended. Hunterswho use the Hunter’s Journalwill be able to provide accurate
harvest and days aeld, key information sought within
the post-season questionnaires.

A research project iscurrently underwayto study wood ducksin western Nevada.At hatch, a webtag isattached to ducklings.This webtag resemblesa small staple withengraved numbersand is attached in thewebbing of a foot. Reports of Wood Ducks with awebtag are extremely valuable to researchers.
