Hello everyone ! I attended TCS campus drive at Sastra university on sep 14-sep17. The Process had 3 rounds, - Aptitude. - Technical. - Hr. (Tech n HR can be combined sometimes). 1st round consists of numerical aptitude and verbal ability. Try concentrating Logical Reasoning and go through some 4 to 5 previous years placement papers. Time management actually matters a lot so practice accordingly. In Verbal ability they'll ask you to write business letter. Concentrate on salutation, spelling and grammar. I attempted 23 out of 30. Results were announced on 15th sep. Thank god I cleared :). I had my PI on Sep 17th (for me tech and hr combined so it took 55 mins :o). And the panel I went consisted of 3 members. I just went in. Me: Excuse me, sir. Interviewer : Yes Ms. Vidyalakshmi come in and make yourself comfortable. Me: Thank you sir, and a very good morning sir! Interviewer : So vidya tell me about yourself? Me : Told. Interviewer : Tell me about dancing vidya. What is the one thing imp for dancing ? (as I told dancing is my passion). Me : Told (he was kinda impressed with my answer). Interviewer : Vidya you like C or Java ? Me : C sir. Interviewer : Why not Java? Me : I know Java sir, but C is my fav. among the two. Interviewer : Well you know what is a File pointer? Me : Told. Interviewer : OK then how will you close or open a file ? Me : As I don't how to explain orally and I was nervous that my first questions about pointers so I asked him whether I can write it on a paper. Interviewer : Yes ! sure. You can write. Me : Wrote. Interviewer : OK. let me give a input write a code for it (using file pointer). Me : Sir am not much comfortable with handling files but I'll try sir. I wrote something and explained the logic. Interviewer : Asked some questions from my code. Me : I told somewhat ok. Interviewer : (Smiled) you know what is a data structure ? Me : Told.

Interviewer : What are all the types of trees you know ? Me : Told. Interviewer : What's the difference between binary tree and bst ? Me: Told. Interviewer : (He drew a tree) what tree is this? Me : BST (actually it is). Interviewer : Is it balanced or not ? Me : No. Interviewer : What will happen if you balance it ? Me : AVL tree. Interviewer : You know AVL tree rotation ? can you do ? Me: Did. Interviewer : What are the various CPU scheduling available ? Me : Told. Interviewer : Can you explain any three with example ? Me : Did. Interviewer : (HR question) you said you love interacting with people, So vidya now forget that am your recruiter and imagine me as a random person, talk to me. Me : (confidence actually matters) We conversed for about 5 mins (he was really impressed :) ). Interviewer : What is mutual exclusion and critical section ? Me: Told. Interviewer : How monitor's signal differs from semaphores ? Me : Explained. Interviewer : You've mentioned that you are adaptable to any environment, give me a example from your real life. Me : Told. Interviewer : (Gone through all my certificates) asked some questions from that like about my IPT, Projects etc. Me : I told whatever I knew. Interviewer : Vidya have you chosen your final year project? Me : Yes sir. Interviewer : Which domain ? Me : PHISHING DETECTION ANF PREVENTION. Web security sir. Interviewer : Explain your project in 5 mins so that I should be able to get complete knowledge about it. Me : Explained (really well :D). Interviewer : Well vidya you got 98% percent in 10th std with centum in main subjects. Did you get any rank ? Me : District rank sir. Interviewer : That's great Vidya, having scored 97 in English can you tell me about yourself without using the word "I". Me : I spoke for about 40 seconds after which I couldn't : (I just got nervous !). Interviewer : Its ok Vidya drink some water. Me : Thank you sir. Interviewer : What is imp hardwork or luck ? Me : Both sir because I really worked hard so I cleared apti and I have luck thats why I am in such a friendly panel.

Interviewer (HR) : (bright smile). Interviewer : What do you know about compiler design ? Me : Sorry sir, I don't remember anything regarding that subject. Interviewer : Why ? parsers? grammars ? nothing ? Me : blabbered something. Actually I didn't get TOC as an elective so compiler engineering was very difficult. And the he asked some basics in OOAD, JAVA (multi threading) software engineering (I couldn't remember all) somehow managed to explain. Interviewer : OK Vidya its nice talking to you :) (asked me about location preference, service agreement, shifts in work etc). Me: Thank you sir, its my pleasure to talk to you :) Have a nice day sir :). After about 5 hours results were announced. By the power of the almighty and the hardwork I put in "I GOT IN" :D :D. NOTE: WATEVER THEY ASK DON'T LOSE YOUR CONFIDENCE TRY ANSWERING HONESTLY AND KEEP SMILING THROUGHOUT !
