* Metra trains can make more than one round trip a day, so there may be enough trains. The problem is supplying the crews for the extended work day within hours of service regulations. Same for CTA. * Building a new rail connection from Union Station to McCormick Place using the existing CN along 16th Street would be a considerable benefit. * An underground extension of the Metra Electric along Monroe to Union Station and along North Michigan and Lake Shore Drive to Lawrence would have provided still more capacity; but six years doesn't seem like enough time.
