Apple Bar
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
1/3 cup Toasted Sliced Pecans
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
2 Granny Smith Apples - peeled, sliced
1/4 cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1/4 cup Olive Oil
1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 Large Egg
1/4 cup Cold Strong Coffee
Time: 1 hr 15 min
Squares: 16
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
To toast the pecans, place them on a baking sheet and bake for 3-5 min then put to one side.
Spread sliced apples on an 8 inch baking pan then sprinkle with sugar.
Stir in the pecans, cinnamon, flours, baking powder and baking soda with a fork until the apples are coated.
Stir in the coffee, egg, vanilla and oil with a rubber spatula scraping sides and bottom of pan.
Use spatula to smooth top then sprinkle over with pecans.
Place in the oven and bake for 45 to 50 min or test with a wooden toothpick which should come out clean when inserted in the middle.
Place on rack and allow to cool before cutting into 16 squares.
Serve warm or cold.
Serve with Tea or Coffee.
Great for a party.

Apple Bread
Ingredients:
3 Eggs
3 cups diced Apples
1 cup Vegetable Oil
2 cups Sugar
1 tablespoon Vanilla
3 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 cup chopped Walnuts
Topping:
6 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons cinnamon
Time: 1 hr 20 min
Loafs: 2
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour 2 loaf pans.
Combine oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla together and mix well. Add the remaining ingredients and blend well.
Pour the batter into the loaf pans
Mix toppings and sprinkle on top.
Bake in oven for 60 to 70 minutes.
Allow to cool before serving.
Great with Tea or Coffee.

Apple Butter Doughnut
Ingredients:
1/2 cup grated Apple
1½ cups Flour
1¾ teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
1/2 cup Sugar
1/3 cup Butter
1 Egg
1/4 cup Milk
Doughnut Coating:
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup butter melted
Time: 40 min
Serves: 4 - 6
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine together 1½ cups of flour, 1¾ teaspoon of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/3 cup of butter and mix until crumbly.
Beat 1 egg and add 1/4 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of grated apple.
Tip the egg mixture into the flour mixture and mix until it has the consistency of donut batter.
Use Pam to spray the muffin pans.
Place in oven and bake. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for small donuts, 20 to 25 minutes for large donuts.
Dip donuts in butter whilst they're still warm and shake in mixture of 1/3 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
Cooking time will vary on the size of the Doughnuts.
Serve with Cream, Ice Cream, or Custard.

Apple Cake Dessert
Ingredients:
450g Cooking Apples - peeled, cored, chopped
225g Plain Flour
175g Dark Soft Brown Sugar
110g Butter
2 Eggs - beaten
4 tablespoons Milk
1 tablespoons Clear Honey - warmed slightly
1 tablespoons Light Demerara Sugar
1 tablespoons Ground Mixed Spice
1 tablespoons Ground Cinnamon
2 tablespoons Baking Powder
Time: 2 hrs
Serves: 6
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 170°C.
Grease a deep 7 inch round cake tin then line it with buttered greaseproof paper.
Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy then gradually add the eggs a little at a time, beating them constantly.
Sieve the flour, spice and baking powder then add to the mixture. Mix together well.
Fold in the apples and just enough milk to make a soft dropping consistency then pour into the prepared cake tin.
Place in the oven and bake for 90 minutes until the cake has risen well and is firm to the touch.
Turn out onto a wire rack and allow to cool.
When the cake has cooled, brush it with honey and sprinkle with Demerara sugar.
Serve with Cream, Ice Cream, or Custard.

Apple Cobbler
Ingredients:
Filling ingredients:
1/3 cup Sugar
1½ tablespoons Flour
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
3 lb Tart Apples - peeled, cored, and sliced
3 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Crust Ingredients:
2 cups Flour
1/4 cup Sugar
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoons Salt
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter, chilled, cut into small pieces
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped Crystallized Ginger
Zest of one Orange
1 cup Heavy Cream - plus more for glaze
Time: 1 hr 15 min
Serves: 6 - 8
Apple Cobbler Instructions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Filling directions
Melt the butter over a medium heat in a large sauté pan then mix in the apple slices, lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar and flour.
Partially cover and cook for approximately 10 minutes until just tender then stir in vanilla.
Place in a buttered 10" pie dish - this recipe has the crust only on the top.
Crust directions
Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together in a large bowl and cut in the butter using a pastry blender until mixture turns into fine crumbs.
Stir in ginger and orange zest into cream. Use a fork to mix this cream into the flour until the dough sticks together.
Roll the dough into a ball and knead a little. Roll the dough out so it is slightly larger than the pie dish.
Place in a dish and cut off any excess dough. Score the middle to allow the steam to escape while baking. Brush with cream.
Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes at 450 degrees then lower heat to 375 degrees and continue to bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
Allow to cool a little before serving
Serve with Cream, Ice Cream, or Custard.

Apple Coffee Cake
Ingredients:
Cake:
2 cups Bisquick Mix
2/3 cup Milk
2 tablespoons Sugar
1 Egg
1 Tart Green Apple - cored, peeled, sliced
Topping:
1/3 cup Bisquick Mix
1/3 cup Packed Brown Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
4 tablespoons Butter
Time: 35 min
Serves: 4
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Grease 8 square pan or 9
round pan.
Mix cake ingredients.
Spread cake batter in pan.
Insert apple slices into the batter evenly throughout the cake.
Mix the topping ingredients of Bisquick, brown sugar and cinnamon.
Spread topping mix over top of batter in pan.
Add slices of butter all over the top.
Bake 20 minutes or until golden brown, testing with a toothpick.
Allow to cool a little before serving.
Serve with Cream, Ice Cream, or Custard.

Apple Cookies
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Shortening
1 1/3 cups Brown Sugar
1 Egg
1/4 cup Milk
2 cups Flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Soda
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 cup chopped Nuts
1 cup chopped Apple
1 cup Raisins
Glaze:
1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
3 tablespoons Orange Juice or Apple Juice
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Time: 30 min
Cookies: 16
Instructions:
Cream shortening and brown sugar, add remaining ingredients in order shown, mix well.
Drop by rounded teaspoonful on un-greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes.
To make the glaze just combine the ingredients for the glaze together.
Glaze while slightly warm.
Leave to cool a little before serving.
Serve with Tea or Coffee.

Apple Crumble
Ingredients:
Crumble:
10½oz Plain Flour - sieved pinch of salt
6oz Unrefined Brown Sugar
7oz Unsalted Butter - cubed at room temperature
knob of Butter - for greasing
Filling:
1 lb Apples - peeled, cored and cut into 1cm/½in piece
2oz Unrefined Brown Sugar
1 tablespoon Plain Flour
1 pinch of Ground Cinnamon
Time: 1 hr 30 min
Serves: 4
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
Place the flour and sugar in a large bowl and mix well. Taking a few cubes of butter at a time rub into the flour mixture. Keep rubbing until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Place the fruit in a large bowl and sprinkle over the sugar, flour and cinnamon. Stir well being careful not to break up the fruit.
Butter a 24cm/9in ovenproof dish. Spoon the fruit mixture into the bottom, then sprinkle the crumble mixture on top.
Bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes until the crumble is browned and the fruit mixture bubbling.
Serve with thick cream or custard.
Leave to cool a little before serving.

Apple Danish
Ingredients:
3 cups All-Purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Shortening
1 Egg Yolk
1/2 cup Milk
Filling:
6 cups sliced peeled Apples
1½ cups Sugar
1/4 cup Butter - melted
2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
Glaze:
1 Egg White - lightly beaten
1/2 cup Confectioners' Sugar
3 teaspoons Water
Time: 1 hr 20 min
Serves: 20
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°.
Combine flour and salt together
