~ Creative Enameling Classes ~
September through November 2009
Alll classes will be held at The Artisanry, a working artist studio in North Portland.
No prior experience is necessary for these classes; experienced students are welcome to refine their skills...
Cloisonné Enameling -
Lear the entire process of creating cloisonné, with
delicate lines of precious metal delineating patterns
and images. Create a suitable design, bend and
apply the cloisonné wires, apply multiple layers of
enamel and fuse them in the kiln, and grind and
flash-fire the finished enamel. You will be
provided with materials, and complete at least one
Painted Enameling
Leam a straightforward way to add fine details to
your enamels. The use of painting enamels began in
medieval France, and is appropriate for
contemporary and traditional designs. Painting
enamels are mixed with lavender oil and applied to
a previously enameled surface. You will be
provided with two silver blanks, and you will
piece that can be worn as a pendant. complete at least one small piece that can be worn
S175 as a pendant.

Open Studio Time
The Artisanry studio will be open from 6:30 to 9:30 PM on Wednesday evenings for continuing students.
‘Throughout the autumn, enjoy the weekly opportunity to use the kiln and continue with further projects, in a
less structured format. (There will be no open studio on October 14 or October 21)

Alll classes start on Friday evenings from 7: 30 to 9: 30 pm, with an overview of the class content and time for socializing
and questions. This allows the full use of the studio on Saturday and Sunday, both days from 10 am to 5 pm. While there
are various kinds of take-out food nearby, please feel free to bring a lunch with you.
Our small classes allow for individual attention and encouragement to every student.
Minimum registration per class is 2, maximum is 4
