A letter from the Minister...
I am always grateful for September, itbrings a sense of normality back to life. Thesustaining routines return, there are newbeginnings for some, and the celebrationof the harvest being gathered in.For us a Methodist Church it marks the beginning of the churchyear with ministers who have moved churches taking up theirnew appointment. This means the welcoming of Revd David Kingto be our Superintendant who oversees the life of the Circuit. We pray for him and Brenda, and look forward to the leadershiphe will give to our witness as Methodist churches together in thearea.Specifically, for us a church we can look ahead to what God has instore for us. In some ways there will be more of the same, whichis a good thing, there is reason to celebrate what happens weekby week in our church. Thank you to all of you who play your partin making these things happen. As we look ahead we must alsobe looking for what God might do outside of our routine or howwe might respond to the needs of our local community. It has been both a surprise and joy to see the response to the
‘Peace on our Streets’ postcards. The church has been a catalyst
for many in the town to talk with one voice, from children to theelderly. In a small way we have spoken of the hope and peaceGod gives. I am sure that as the year unfolds we will see moremoments of sharing the Good News in practical ways as we longto see Jesus changing lives as we speak of his love andforgiveness.
