The Milice Patriotique Québécoise is a private militia under the command of Major Serge Provost.

The purpose of the militia:

"La Milice Patriotique Québécoise, aussi appelée MPQ, est une organisation de défense territoriale, chargée de servir et de protéger l'ensemble du peuple du Québec ainsi que l'ensemble de son territoire. L'objectif de base est d'offrir une force d'intervention structurée qui pourra, avec un maximum d'effectifs, fournir les secours d'ordre matériel et moral en cas de désastre causé par une catastrophe naturelle, des troubles internes comme la rupture des services essentiels, ou protéger contre un agresseur ou un envahisseur qui voudrait assimiler le peuple ou dérober ses richesses et celles de son territoire."

TRANSLATION:

"The Quebec Patriotic Militia, also called the QPM (MPQ), is a territorial defense organization charged to serve and protect the whole people of Quebec and the whole of its territory. The basic objective is to offer a structured intervention force able, with a maximum force to provide materiel and moral assistance in case of disaster caused by natural catastrophe, internal disturbance such as the interruption of essential services, or to protect against an aggressor or an invader wishing to assimilate the people or usurp their wealth and that of their territory."

The spokesman for the Milice Patriotique Québécoise is Major Serge Provost, Commander of permanent territorial operations.
