Apart rom workingbehind the scenes with the BCPcommittee on new membershipand new committee members, our work with the wider community also continues.In September Darren Lauderand Vindex engker, President o ACP Jakarta, will travelto Bangkok or the WACS (World Association o ChesSociety) Asia Forum. Tis is a chance or Indonesia to join with other Asian Culinary organizations. Te Forumis a chance or Presidents to connect with each other anddiscuss upcoming events.Che Andrew Skinner has been working together with hisBulgari team, Wayan Wicaya and commi Alex amuhardjaon their upcoming Global Che entry. Te ingredients will be released later this month and then intense practicesessions will begin in anticipation o the trip to SantiagoChile next January. Sponsorship is now being sought andnalised and the list o members and riends who wouldlike to attend the event is encouraging. We are all lookingorward to it. We have accepted an invitation to cook in Singaporeduring the Asia On Te Edge estival where seven ches willparticipate in a culinary display that will end with a galadinner. Te event will be held rom September 24 to 27.Representing us will be young Che, Jason rom Bali’s Hu’uRestaurant. We have seen a lot o rapid change in the last ewmonths and lots o new ches taking up key positions inBali, this is great or our industry as new blood keeps usevolving creatively and means our industry remains vibrant.I eel this is a most exciting time in Bali’s culinary journey and appreciate all the support we receive rom membersand sponsors.Regards to you all,

Dear Culinary Members,Happy 64th Independence Day o Indonesia, during the month o  August most o our activities or ACPin Jakarta ocused on IndonesianCulinaire starting with Pangan Nusaat Jakarta Convention Center where21 provinces presented specialties romtheir regions. Tis event are held by the Department o rade, BPEN, theNational Export council, and coordinated through ACP and thesupport o culinary experts such as William Wongso, Bondan Winarno, uty Soenardi and Emma Wirahadikusuma. MrsSusilo Bambang Yudhoyono, wie o Indonesia’s President visitedthe event. On 9 August we were also invited to judge the BetawiFood competition or the women’s association PKK rom theregions o DKI Jakarta at the aman Mini Indonesia Indah. ACP also organised the 1st Indonesian Master ChocolateCompetition, which was held at the Jakarta Food ExpoKemayoran in conjunction with Interood Exhibition during August. Te winner o the competition was BorobudurHotel Pastry eam who received a trophy and US$1000. Tecompetition ollowed similar rules as the Asian Pastry Cupbut ocused on Chocolate Show Pieces and Chocolate cake/desserts only. Tere were 11 teams rom Hotels, Restaurant andBakeries rom Jakarta one rom Solo, Kobayashi Bakery that won the 2nd place o US$ 750. We also sent teams to Food Hotel Malaysia, which was heldat the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center rom 11-14 August2009. Te team was lead by Rahmat Kusnedi together with 2artists, 1 hot cooking che and 1 pastry che.Tis September, we will send our representative team toCulinary Competition in Bangkok rom 4-6 September and we will be participating at the Vietnam Expo or an IndonesianFood Exhibition and Cooking Demo rom 24- 27 Sept at theHanoi Convention center. At the end, let me wish “Selamat Menunaikan Ibadah Puasa”to all members o ACP and BCP who will be celebrating theasting month starting the end o August.
