Self Aligning Ball Bearing :
They have two rows of balls running in its own grooves in the inner ring and sharing a common sphered track in the outer ring. The inner ring and ball set align themselves freely around the bearing axis. They are easy to examine. Carry radial load

Withstand only very little axial load.

Taper Roller Bearings
They have taper rollers fixed to the inner race with cage. Inner race is called cone and outer race is called cup. Carry heavy radial and axial load in one direction. Taper roller bearings are fitted at opposite angles to take up axial load in both directions. These bearings cannot take misalignment.

This bearing is used to receive the longitudinal thrust or pressure of a shaft. It absorbs pressure through the collers made on the shaft.

Its main advantage is that the shaft rotates at a fixed point.
