Corn Bread 1 1/4 cups white flour 3/4 cup corn meal 4 tablespoons sugar 5 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt 1 egg 1 cup milk 2 tablespoons melted butter 1) Preheat oven to 375F. Stir together dry ingredients. Whisk the egg with the milk and add to the dry ingredients. Add the melted butter and stir until just combined. Bake in a greased 9-inch pie dish or 8-inch square cake pan at 375 degrees F for 30-35 minutes. Should be lightly browned around the edges and cooked in the middle. Serves 6-8. Cornbread with sugar in it is what southerners call "Yankee Cornbread." Southern cornbread contains no sugar
